Kayla & Dusty’s Custom Vintage-Inspired Fall Wedding – Knoxville Wedding Photographer – Amber Lowe Photo
I’ve actually shared Kayla and Dusty with you before, because their Americana engagement session was a gorgeous testament to their history and the history that brought them to each other. I had to share it with you. Check out this blog post to see that gorgeous session.
Their wedding was no different. They collect vintage items, and used them to make their wedding one of the most magical I’ve had the privilege to photograph.
When we arrived Saturday morning, the rain poured all over the Norris Tea Room property. It flooded the amphitheater where the ceremony was scheduled, so we quickly made plans to hold the ceremony inside. We couldn’t have asked for a better indoor venue, because Norris Tea Room offered a warm lived-in atmosphere that went perfectly with Kayla and Dusty’s vintage vibes. It was almost like the venue itself was working to make things as magical as possible for us that day.
We found a hidden nook with a medieval-looking stone wall that was perfect for bridal portraits. I used some serious photographer magic to get these dramatic shots, standing all the way in the bathroom and turning out all the lights to capture every bit of the gorgeous light falling on Kayla and Dusty’s faces.
Kayla’s wedding gown was inspired by antique lace and was one of the most gorgeous ones I’ve ever seen. She accented it with dreamy rose velvet heels. And every inch of Dusty’s wedding look was vintage, from his vintage plaid suit, to his brass cuff links, to his leather square toed boots. Beforehand, the bride and groom delivered letters to their parents, sharing a special moment with each of them.
Even their ceremony decor echoed their sweet history. They handmade the hoop arbor, and placed a sentimental tobacco basket on the mantle as the centerpiece for their ceremony. After their first date, rather than send flowers to win his future wife, Dusty hand-delivered this vintage decor piece he knew Kayla had been dreaming about. Then the two exchanged custom rings, Dusty’s inscribed with the title of their special song.
Kayla and Dusty decorated each reception table setting with vintage cake toppers, and even the table runners were vintage doilies sewn together. It was a dream to see them dance together through the evening, seeing their history finally move into the next chapter of their lives.
