Kayla + Dusty’s Vintage Americana Engagement Session – Knoxville Botanical Gardens + Island Home Airport – Knoxville Photographer
Call me sentimental, but I’m a sucker for restoration. And Kayla and Dusty are the king and queen of it, bringing a vintage Americana style to all they touch! They love to shop for antiques together, even restoring an old Ford 100 pickup truck in robin’s egg blue. They brought it to their engagement session and we had a great time playing with it at Knoxville Botanical Gardens, along with their sweet mini greyhound, Angus.
We also enjoyed one of my bucket list locations: an airport! Dusty’s an Air Force pilot, so we started our session at Island Home Airport. We got to check out Dusty’s favorite planes, including the ones he flew for his pilot training and a historical WWII medical plane that flew on D-Day.
But the most beautiful restoration was Kayla and Dusty’s relationship: The two met while working at Ruby Tuesday as teenagers. They lost touch for years, rekindling their friendship a few years ago. Their relationship was restored and more beautiful than ever, just like their beautiful old pickup truck.
Kayla and Dusty will be getting married at Norris Tea Room in November, and I can’t wait to see the beautiful vintage details of their wedding.
