Knoxville Photographer – Personal Post – SNOW DAY!
“DO NOT LEAVE YOUR HOME UNLESS IT IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. THE TENNESSEE VALLEY IS EXPECTING 7-9 INCHES OF SNOW. Y’ALL, IT’S GONNA BE BAD”.
If you’re in the East Tennessee area, you probably heard this over and over again on Tuesday. However, I was convinced around 430, after I got home from work, that we weren’t going to get any blizzard. So Penny and I curled up on the couch together having a Netflix binge and waiting for Ben to come home.
Something about snow in the south. Already full of warmth, comfort, and “bless your heart”- something about snow just makes the South even more warm and inviting. Maybe it’s the snow on the peaks of the Smokey Mountains, or the snow-covered hills. But I’ve convinced it’s the warmth and comfort of being snowed in with your family. Some of my favorite childhood memories usually took place on days we were snowed in. Like the times me and Lanna would sled hours and hours on the massive neighborhood hill. Or when we would have neighborhood bonfires where the kids would sled into the dark wintry night while the adults sat by the fire laughing and breathing these moments in.
So now, I’m cherishing these new memories. Ben and I snowed in with our Penny pup, drinking numerous cups of coffee and hot tea, and breathing in the beauty of this Southern snow in our new house.
Don’t judge, I wanted to keep my warm coffee PJs on 🙂
I can’t contain this cuteness you’re about to see. Penny pup absolutely loved her first snow!
She kept trying to eat the snow.
