When did you know that you wanted to marry Rachel? “I don’t have the day narrowed down to a specific event or time, but my desire to marry Rachel has been present almost since the beginning of our dating lives. I will have to say that once I introduced her to my family, and I saw how they all clicked so well, I knew
I had someone extra special. It is so hard to explain how exactly I have gotten to know that she was the one. It has simply been a combination of thousands of laughs, kisses, and
experiences that let me know that this girl was made for me!
I was beyond excited when Kris asked me to capture one of the biggest days of his life. Guys, take notice!!! Your girlfriend may not tell you she wants a photographer for the proposal but it is always always always a good idea.
We were initially planning on shooting at The Knoxville Museum of Art but it was homecoming for the Vols. So traffic was a big problem. I went ahead to Knoxville Botanical Gardens to hide like a creepy person. He texted me to tell me he was there and I couldn’t see him. My heart began to race and my hands were shaking. All of the sudden, I saw them come up from another section of the gardens and then felt my heart race again. And then the most beautiful moments happened. I’ll just let Rachel tell you..
Me: Did you have any idea?
Rachel: Not at all. He played it off so well by acting like he didn’t have anything planned. Once we got to the gardens he acted like he was looking for something but I had no idea he was looking for you. I knew it was going to be soon, but not that particular day. I really kinda thought it might be Sunday so he caught me off guard.
Me: What was your first reaction?
Rachel: Is this really happening? Words cannot describe how sincere he was when he asked. He started to tear up and we stood there and hugged for a few minutes before he could begin. I literally couldn’t breathe when he opened the box.
